    Nigeria’s most prestigious yearly music award, Headies award, is here again!

    Earlier on, the show was announced to take a place on the 19th of October, and many people have been waiting gleefully for this day.

    Well, the judgment day is finally here, the award kicks off at 7pm, this evening.

    The 13th edition of this award, however, features Africa’s finest artists competing under 23 unique categories.

    They include;

    Artiste of the year,
    Next rated,
    Best Pop Single,
    Producer of The Year,
    Best Rap Album,
    Best R&B/ Pop Album,
    Best Collaboration
    Best Rap Single,
    Best Vocal Performance (Male),
    Best Vocal Performance (Female), Next Rated,
    Hip Hop World Revelation,
    Lyricist on the Roll.
    Best Street-Hop Artiste;
    Album of The Year;
    Artiste of The Year;
    Song of The Year;
    African Artiste Recognition;
    Headies’ Viewer’s Choice;
    Industry Brand Supporter;
    Best Performer;
    Songwriter of The Year;
    Rookie of the Year;
    Special Recognition, and finally,
    Hall of Fame.

    Well, that’s quite a long list. However, most of the focus goes to who wins, “Artist of the year” and “Next rated “

    The “Artist of the year category” is usually a very critical one as the most talented and successful artists are nominated, and one of them picked as the winner of the award. It’s like choosing the best among equals.

    Nominees for this category include;

    Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido, and Falz.

    Guessing the winner is a really hard one as all artists are masters of their music.

    However, we can’t deny the fact that that Burna boy aka African Giant may have the highest possibility of winning.

    He has broken many boundaries this year and has given us many smashing hits!! Burna boy is also considered the people’s choice. Nonetheless, we can’t be too sure of his victory just yet.

    For the Next rated category, we have artists who are nominated for the most promising young acts of the year.

    Nominated for this category are;

    Rema, Joeboy, Fireboy DML, Victor AD, Lyta, and Zlatan Ibile .

    This category is another one on the lips of the people.

    It, however, seems popular singer Fireboy, has little faith in himself as he chose to attend Wizkid’s Starboy Fest instead of the award show.

    Hence, we are left with five young talented acts to vote for.

    From these five, we have two artists with the surest probabilities of winning, Rema and Zlatan

    Now we all know Zlatan’s fans love to make lots of noises. We just hope they vote as much as Rema’s die-hard fans
