July has been very interesting, and the past two weeks have been more phenomenal. From the too cool to be true collaborations to the unexpected hooks up, and albums we sort of weren’t expecting.
It’s a new week, anyway. And before it gets all clustered up, here’s five fire jams released in the course of last week, that should definitely be on your playlist if you love good vibes.
Davido – Blow My Mind ft. Chris Brown
A mega jam like this was going to happen at some point in time, yeah. Davido wouldn’t go silent for half a year just cause he wanted to release a mobile game? No, he wouldn’t. He has to have even bigger plans.
Guess we didn’t guess it until he announced it weeks ago. “OBO x Chris Brown” looks so cool in a Tweet. But you know what’s even better? The actual OBO x C Breezy.
“Blow My Mind” has a twist, that is, might have been a bit influenced by Brown a bit, but it still had the “back to basics” Afro feel Davido started putting on since early 2018.
Chris Brown killed it, Davido killed it. The jam is fire. Why would anyone still hesitate on putting this on replay, anyway?
DJ Spinall – Dis Love ft. Wizkid, Tiwa Savage
It’s for the culture, I think. DJ Spinall no dey carry last. Never. He must be Warri.
Both Wizkid and Tiwa Savage are trending everywhere, now. You know, even though Tekno and Eazi got it too, it still takes some relevance in the industry to land on Beyonce’s album.
Tiwa Savage was on “Keys To The Kingdom” with Mr Eazi, from The Lion King album. While StarBoy Wiz managed to score a duet with Bey herself (no one else got that). It must have felt like a good idea to put out new music from the couple (not like they’re together anyway.)
DJ Spinall shared “Dis Love” and it’s also blazing. While it doesn’t sound like they just recorded this, it’s a new vibe you should definitely jam to. Your week can’t be complete without this.
Fireboy – You
Who doesn’t want a new Fireboy song every day? I’ll help you, no one. We all want more of this talented singer that has stolen our hearts away.
Who doesn’t want him singing about his lady? Even better. Who doesn’t want him singing to appreciate his fans?
“You” has an alternative pattern, and showcases the best of Fireboy we’ve seen until now. You don’t want to not hear this song before it casts (yeah, that one’s a slang.)
Burna Boy – Pull Up
That is, of course, if you don’t have the “African Giant” album, already. And if you don’t, you most likely suck or there’s a reasonable explanation for it.
Well, “Pull Up” came earlier, and it’s a killer tune (no pun intended.) Burna Boy is a bag of vibes, so if for nothing else, you have to put the song this jam on your playlist this week because you definitely won’t regret doing that.
Juls – Angelina ft. Falz, Oxlade
Nobody really understands Juls’ idea of making this track, but whatever it is inspired him to do it, is crisp. And the jam is so interesting because, even though Oxlade has tried some high tempo and stuff, in the past we’ve never seen him go so ‘club banger’ before.
Plus, another opportunity to listen to Falz rhyme again? You don’t miss that!
