Carlo Ancelotti is poised to bid farewell to Real Madrid, having reportedly agreed to take over as head coach of the Brazil national team starting in June 2025.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti has reached a verbal agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to lead the Seleção as they aim to capture a historic sixth World Cup title in 2026, to be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The veteran Italian tactician is now expected to begin formal procedures to finalise his departure from Los Blancos. The CBF is keen on having Ancelotti in place ahead of Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay on June 6 and 10, respectively.

Romano also noted that Ancelotti will not be at the helm for Real Madrid during the inaugural edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S., as the CBF insisted their new coach be appointed before the June international window.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid still have five crucial La Liga fixtures remaining—including a title-defining clash against Barcelona—as they trail the Catalan side by four points with matches left against Celta Vigo, Barça, Mallorca, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad.
