Nigerian singer Odumodublvck has shared the details of his conversation with politician Peter Obi following an online call-out in which he had demanded the politician’s support for his latest album.

A few weeks ago, Odumodublvck made headlines when he publicly called out Obi, asking him to promote his new project. The move sparked backlash from many, who accused the artist of being disrespectful in his approach.

However, after the two met in person at an airport, Odumodublvck had the chance to explain himself to the former presidential candidate. In a recent interview, the rapper opened up about the exchange, revealing what he told Obi during their conversation.

According to Odumodublvck, he took the opportunity to explain that the negative comments he faced online were largely due to his support for Obi.

He recalled saying, “Respect to the man first of all. When I saw him, I said: sir, good morning. Because of you, they are insulting me online.”

He went on to remind Obi of the personal sacrifice he made to support him during his presidential campaign. “It’s true, because when you were running, I came out and supported you. I even sang about it. You know what it is for an artist to come out and publicly back a presidential candidate? Backlash,” Odumodublvck said.

The artist also recounted the difficulties he faced during the election, explaining that he wasn’t even allowed to vote at first. “I had to go call my mother, who was 68 at the time. She came with me to the polling unit.”

This candid conversation highlights the complexities of navigating public support and the pressure that comes with aligning oneself with political figures.

Despite the challenges, Odumodublvck expressed his genuine respect for Peter Obi, showing that his call-out was rooted in his dedication to his craft and his desire for support as an artist.
