Nigerian Afrobeats singer Lyta, whose real name is Babatunde Rahim, has openly voiced his frustration over the disappointing streaming numbers for his music, hinting that he may stop releasing new songs if the situation doesn’t improve.

In a recent, emotionally charged Instagram Live session, the Time hitmaker shared his struggles, revealing that he’s currently facing financial difficulties.

According to Lyta, despite his talent, the lack of support from fans through music streams has left him broke and in dire need of financial relief.

“I can do more good music. But if you don’t stream my music, I won’t drop another one. I’m in need of money,” Lyta said, visibly distressed.

The singer went on to explain how the lack of streaming is affecting his well-being.

In a personal moment, he joked but also expressed serious concern about his physical appearance, stating, “Look at how I’m looking—slim. I want to gain weight. Let me enjoy your money a little. If you stream my music, I will add weight.”

His heartfelt message has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans expressing sympathy for his financial challenges, while others are urging supporters to step up and show more love for the artist’s work.

Lyta’s plea highlights the reality that many musicians face in a fast-paced digital world, where consistent support from fans plays a crucial role in an artist’s financial sustainability.

Whether this call to action will lead to more streams or further disengagement remains to be seen.
