Afrobeats inspires me – DJ Khaled
Prominent American disc jockey and music executive DJ Khaled has openly shared his newfound inspiration from Afrobeats, stating that he has been feeling creatively inspired and finding a spiritual connection akin to that of dancehall.
The renowned ‘Another One‘ artist disclosed this during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, where he also revealed that Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy will be featured on his forthcoming 14th studio album, ‘Til Next Time,’ scheduled for a 2024 release.
DJ Khaled expressed his interest in collaborating with Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated Nigerian singer Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi.
During the interview, Khaled mentioned that his parents occasionally jest about him running for president, but he clarified that he has never harbored any genuine interest in pursuing a political career.
“As far as politics, I never got into it,” he said. “It’s a never-ending conversation of back and forth. There’s never an answer. I’d rather be the person that focuses on the solution of being good at all times, working hard, and spreading that love because you can do that.”
