Telz can look back on his challenges from a more positive perspective than other musicians whose careers had rocky beginnings.
From his humble beginning, Telz now has a Grammy under his belt because of his contributions to Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall‘ which won the 2020 Grammy award for the World Album category.
The producer discussed some of his early difficulties as a music producer in a recent interview with the Viz & Banks Podcast.
Telz claims that five years ago, he didn’t have ₦150 to afford Keke Napep to commute from one part of Lagos to another.
The producer reflected on his challenges and said that if someone had told him five years ago that he would be earning up to $5,000 per month, he wouldn’t have believed them.
In the podcast, Telz also shared that he was switching apartments and was essentially homeless just because he wanted to network and meet people.
Telz said that Nigerian musician Pretty Boy DO was the first artist he encountered who offered him assistance on his journey, and no matter how successful he becomes, he will always feel grateful to him.
