iFani pens a sweet tribute to his late rival AKA.
In a brand-new song, South African rapper iFani pays a touching tribute to his deceased longtime foe AKA. iFani honors the legacy of AKA.
Young musician Bravo Leroux’s song We Were Young pays honor to AKA’s history and his contributions to South Africa’s hip-hop scene, and it was written by iFani.
In a different stanza, Haymani also describes how, despite their open feuding, they were always respectful to one another.
The passing of the renowned hip-hop performer and artist AKA stunned and upset many fans around the nation, including iFani.
AKA and iFani had a falling out in 2014 when AKA claimed the Ewe musician had sold his record to the booze company Redds.
The Close-Up Fani refutes all claims and charges that Redds purchased his music in his documentary. In his documentary, Fani said, “AKA even accused Redds of buying my album, that’s not true at all!”
Meanwhile, Fans have expressed their gratitude for iFani’s homage to the late hip-hop musician on Twitter. Some people have even suggested that this may be the artist’s comeback in South Africa’s hip-hop scene.
