Inter Miami confirm STUNNING deal for Lionel Messi after Argentine superstar confirmed decision to head to MLS.
In a move that has shocked the world of football, Inter Miami has officially announced the signing of Lionel Messi.
Before leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract, the MLS team won the race to sign Messi as a free agent. They used a 32-second video to announce Messi’s signing on social media, referencing the interest shown by Barcelona and Al-Hilal, the teams Miami defeated to get him, as well as those who questioned whether a player of Messi’s calibre would ever play in Major League Soccer.
Jorge Mas, the club’s controlling owner, also shared a photo of a shadowy person sporting an Inter Miami ‘Messi 10’ jersey on Twitter.

Messi’s departure is a watershed moment for MLS since he and long-time Ballon d’Or rival Cristiano Ronaldo have both left the European sport. Messi confessed that he “wanted” to return to Barcelona, but the club’s financial predicament made it difficult.
Messi confirmed his move in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, saying: “I made the decision that I am going to go to Miami. I still haven’t closed it 100 per cent. I’m missing some things but we decided to continue the path.”
He might make his debut for his new side Inter Miami as early as next month, when they face Mexico’s Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on July 21.
