Don Design’s thoughtful gift to AKA’s dad revealed
According to Tony Forbes, Don Design, the closest friend of Tony Forbes’ son AKA, gave him a poignant gift after the rapper passed away in February.
AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, died just over two months ago, and his father, Tony, is finding comfort in people who knew the late performer well. The rapper’s closest family members were daughter Kairo Forbes, best buddy Don Design, and girlfriend Nadia Nakai.
In an interview with You Magazine, Forbes and Lynn Forbes, AKA’s parents, discussed their feelings following their son’s sad death.
AKA and his companion Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were shot and killed in February in Durban by a person who remains unidentified.
Tony Forbes admitted that he has been hanging out with his son’s friends more since AKA’s passing.
The Cape Town-based father-of-three has also been seen hanging out with AKA’s girlfriend Nadia Nakai, baby’s mother Zinhle Jiyane, and his granddaughter Kairo Forbes. Lynn and Tony are still friends even though they are divorced.
“I feel closer to him through them,” he told the publication.
Tony said that Don Design, one of AKA’s closest friends, had given him a unique present. It was a bracelet with the words “Long Live Supa Mega, Live Long” written on it. Forbes, Kiernan Jarryd.
Meanwhile, the bracelet also features the AKA logo, the year of his birth, and an infinity sign.
The “blended” family has shared pictures on social media of their quality time together.
