Amapiano Hitmaker, DJ Sumbody Shot Dead In South Africa
DJ Sumbody, a well-known South African music producer and the creator of the well-known Amapiano sound, was recently shot dead.
Numerous sources state that unknown shooters approached DJ Sumbody and his group’s vehicle on Woodmead Road and opened fire, striking it with a hail of bullets.
The DJ and one of his bodyguards were instantly killed when they were hit by the gunfire, while the third person—who is reportedly one of DJ Sumbody’s bodyguards—survived and is now in critical condition.

The attack was confirmed by the police in Gauteng, who also stated that they are hunting for suspects and investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting in Woodmead.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said in a statement:
“Police received a complaint about a shooting on Woodmead Drive at approximately 12.30am. Upon arrival at the scene, police found two people inside a VW Golf with gunshot wounds. Both victims, a driver, and a passenger were certified dead on the scene. It was reported that the third victim, who was driving a BMW X5, was taken to the nearest medical care centre after sustaining gunshot wounds. Police appeal to anyone with information that can help in the investigation or assist in the apprehension of the suspects to call the crime stop number or report to the nearest police station. Information can also be given anonymously via my SAPS App that can be downloaded from any smartphone.”
It has not yet been confirmed why DJ Sumbody and his group were the targets of a horrific attack.
The DJ was set to perform at his Ayepyep fifth edition All White Vueve Picnic. The event was meant to be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
