Essence by Wizkid has surpassed 100 million Spotify streams.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, a top Nigerian Afrobeats singer, has reached a new milestone on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform.
Essence featuring Tems, his 2020 hit single, recently topped 100 million Spotify streams.
On Monday, April 11, 2022, Chart Data, a data-driven music portal, announced the news on its official Twitter page.
It tweeted; ”@wizkidayo and @temsbaby’s “Essence” has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.”

Meanwhile, Shazam announced Essence as the most Shazamed song in the United States in 2021.
The song was also certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the same year.
