Lagos state government has dropped charges against popular Nigerian singer Naira Marley as Wednesday court proceeding comes to an end.
According to Punch newspaper, the defence counsel, Mr Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), withdrew the four counts filed against the three defendants.
Briefing journalists at the end of the proceedings, Adegboruwa who hinted journalists on what transpired in the courtroom said the state withdrew the charges on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It will be recalled that Naira Marley was brought before the court on Wednesday alongside former Governorship aspirant at the 2019 Lagos state gubernatorial election and his wife after breaking FG and Lagos government social distancing order by attending a birthday organized by popular Nigerian movie star Funke Akindele for her husband.
