Summer didn’t come the way anyone expected it, there has been a rather uneasy silence in the industry. A couple of weeks have gone and there has not been too many musics to jam to. Last week, might have just been an improvement, though.
It’s a new week, anyway. And before it gets all clustered up, here’s five fire jams released in the course of last week, that should definitely be on your playlist if you love good vibes.
“Surrender”, off Eazi’s sophomore was the first time this hook-up happened, and it was superb. If you think that was superb, though, then you should check out this new one.
“Doyin” is the classic lovey-dovey Afro single, with Mr Eazi and Simi doing a back and forth, balancing each other out. Warning, though, it may seem extremely short. There’s a solution for that, put it on replay!
Olamide is still the man (pun intended, of course.) After all that he’s done this year, it’s good to see the man is still putting in the effort, and releasing new content. And, he’s not telling us new music in ten years. No.
Must say, though, this year hasn’t been the best of years for him, too. But after opening up with “Woske” and following up with “Spirit” and “Oil and Gas”, there’s only so much man pikin fit do.
The new one, “Man”, had a whole lot of BBanks, we’ve never experienced before. Olamide did do some bars. It’s a perfect one, and a good sing-along, actually. Hustler’s anthem, if I may.
We could say this single is an improvement on Tekno’s last release, “Agege” with Zlatan Ibile. It’s not every day an artist just wakes up to do a song with a message. Coming from an artist like Tekno, it’s even weirder (in a good way.)
Well, “Better” did talk about some issues and Tek offered his prayers for Africa. He believes things will get better. That’s a good optimism, mixed with music, that’s even a cool one.
Yemi Alade is gearing for her album, and very soon, there will be more than enough Woman of Steel content to go round.
In the meantime, a couple of tracks, have been circulating, you should grab one. There’s no reason why it couldn’t be “Home.” Pure Yemi Alade vibes, and some gyration kind of tune, it’s positive.
And, finally, the lover boy. His time is here, no doubt. Just when his tracks “Baby” and “Beginning” are still rocking, he drops a new one, “Baby Girl.”
This is a contagious love number, and it’s absolutely a vibe. You should get familiar with the name Joeboy and also check out the new music. Issa vibe.
