Davido and Wizkid are not at each other’s throats anymore, but yeah, we at Mp3bullet.ng still got some real things to juxtapose. Especially now that these guys are the biggest things out of Africa.
During their fall-out, many months ago, Wizkid did talk about having more international acclaim than Davido, who he called “frog voice.” Davido had replied on Olamide’s “Summer Body” saying he has a Yankee passport.
While Wizkid’s claims may be true, in some way. It’s not entirely true, because Davido is also one of the guys who got a name, internationally. They’ve both shut down O2 Arena, in the UK, and have played big shows all over the world. Wizkid was booked for Coachella, last year and was on tour with Future. Davido, who even has a hold on Africa, has been certified platinum in South Africa, and he’s done big shows, all over.
What a time to be alive right? Davido winning BET’s, Wizkid beating Drake, Jay Z, and others to take home a MOBO. And then, some really big collaborations going down, almost at the same time. Well, in the light of that, we bring you ten of the international collaborations both of them have been on, in the past few years.

Wizkid – Come Closer ft. Drake
“Come Closer” is arguably Wizkid’s biggest track ever, and it had one of the hottest guys on the planet, Drake on it. The cool dancehall afro mash-up has Wizkid at his best and also Drake dropping some bars.
Production credits go to Wizkid’s long time producer, of course, Sarz. Although the official video didn’t have Drake in it, the Daps shot masterpiece is one of the most colorful videos ever. Wizkid even did another video for it.
-
Davido – Blow My Mind ft. Chris Brown
The hottest track in town, right now, “Blow My Mind” is Davido’s latest offering and it’s a big fish. It’s not every day a Nigerian artist gets a collaboration with American singer, Chris Brown.
“Blow My Mind” got all the good vibes, and Chris killed it, honestly. Afrobeats to the world is a perfect description. Oh, and Chris was in the video and it raked in 2m views in a day. You don’t see that anywhere else!
-
Wizkid – African Bad Gyal ft. Chris Brown
Not every artist, yeah. But Wizkid isn’t any artist, yeah. We all know that, don’t we?
Back in 2017, when his international campaign was still very much active, Wizkid hooked up with Chris Brown too, and they did this song “African Bad Gyal.”
The dancehall single which had Wizkid and C Breezy talking about an African love interest is gold. Chris had a stellar performance on it. People like it!
-
Wizkid – Ojuelegba (Remix) ft. Drake, Skepta
Okay, so where did it all start? 2015, Ojuelegba. Wizkid made a big hit “Ojuelegba” off his Ayo album and decided to up the game with Skepta. Somehow, Drake got in it, and it was too many vibes on the “Remix“
The two rappers, did two verses on the afro high life mid-tempo track, as Wizkid did the hook, as it was in the original single. But that was when the whole world started feeling him. You know, “Drake jumped on his track? Who is he?”
-
Davido – Fans Mi ft. Meek Mill
That’s not to say that Davido wasn’t a big shot. Even in 2014, he linked up with Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill, and they did “Fans Mi.”
Meanwhile, he was still signed to his brother’s HKN Music, and they probably paid huge for the collabo. But even with that, it was still something.
“Fans Mi” also demonstrated David’s versatility, as it was more of a hip-hop track.
-
Drake – One Dance ft. Wizkid
Wizkid almost got a Grammy for his part on this hit “One Dance“. I bet that says it all.
-
Davido – Pere ft. Rae Sremmurd, Young Thug
Also taking a more hippie approach, Davido brought in savvy duo, Rae Sremmurd and popular new school rapper, Young Thug, in for “Pere.”
“Pere”, which was also producers by DJ Mustard, had one of the best Davido hooks. It’s a fun song, and a hit!
-
Davido – How Long ft. Tinashe
Davido, also in 2016, tried to do the international vibe of a thing. He failed but still nabbed one lovely collabo with Tinashe.
The American female singer featured on his song, “How Long” and even did the video with him. It’s part of a project that didn’t quite catch up then, “Son Of Mercy EP.”
-
Skepta & Wizkid – Bad Energy
Popular UK rapper, Skepta, is one of Wizkid’s good friends and frequent collaborators. Apart from orchestrating the Ojuelegba Remix, he’s also featured Wizkid on a number of singles, himself.
“Bad Energy” was one of the hottest international collaborations that hit us, in 2018. Wizkid did the chorus, while Skepta did all the verses. Cool stuff.
-
Beyonce – Brown Skin Girl ft. Wizkid
And what some would call the biggest international collaboration of all time, in Nigeria. Beyonce‘s like everyone’s idol, you know. Girl power, big money, hot bod, Black American and her powerful voice. She’s like a younger Oprah Winfrey.
So, to have her doing a duet with Nigeria’s Star Boy is everything. “Brown Skin Girl” which has received a lot of positive reviews is from Beyonce’s Lion King gift album. For the remake of Disney’s classic The Lion King movie.
A lot of covers, already online. Artists jumping on it, doing their own version. It’s safe to say, it kinda made our year!
