    1. 1. Felabration

    Felabration is a music festival that happens once a year and began in 1998 in the memory of a famous musician named Fela Kuti known for his Afro-beats.

    His son Yeni Anikulapo – Kuti started it in his memory. During the weeklong music festival, there are music performances by some renowned international as well as Nigerian artists. They also have other activities like photo exhibitions and symposiums. This is something you must not miss.

    1. 2. Lagos International Jazz Festival

    The Lagos International Jazz Festival is ten now. It is a 3-day long festival that takes place at Freedom Park in the capital city of Lagos. The aim was to bring international jazz artists together, but now, it also includes artists from various other genres.

    Therefore, it is gaining a lot of recognition since it caters to the interests of a larger population. Famous artists such as Lekan Baba Lola and Jermaine Jackson who are Grammy Award Winners have also performed in this festival. Moreover, the state government of Lagos also extended its support to the festival.

    1. 3. Gidi Cultural Festival

    Gidi Festival started as recently as 2014 with the idea of making cultural festivals and pop music accessible and affordable to the general public at large in Africa. This festival came into the limelight in the year 2017 when the famous DJ Diplo came to perform at this festival.
