    Shallipopi reveals he doesn’t write his songs.

    Shallipopi reveals he doesn’t write his songs.

    Nigerian fast-rising street-pop artist Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has revealed that he doesn’t write any of his songs; instead, they are all freestyles.

    Shallipopi, who gained fame with the street-hop hit “Elon Musk,” calls his method of creating music “freestyling” in an interview with Cool FM Lagos.

    He discloses that all of his songs, including those on his EP, Planet Pluto, which was released on July 10, 2023, are freestyles. He adds that he merely spent two hours creating the EP.

    When the OAP asks as to whether he finds songwriting difficult, he responds that he freestyles on purpose to ensure that the music sounds unpolished and not “too professional.”

    ‘If I write it, it will be too professional and too strict’, he said. ‘It is supposed to be vibes and cruise’.

    Recall, On the 26th of July 2023, the singer recorded his second appearance on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs Chart.

    This week’s debuts include Jon Baptiste’s “Drink Water” featuring Jon Bellion & Fireboy at No. 16, Oxlade’s “Intoxicated” with Dave at No. 26, J Hus‘ “Militerian” with Naira Marley at No. 28 and “Masculine” with Burna Boy at No. 31.

    ‘Obapluto’ by Rising Street-pop sensation Shallipopi debuts at NO. 45 which is his second entry after ‘Ex Convict’ which debuted at NO. 26 last week.
