Nigerian music superstar Davido has opened up about the value of education and the role it played in shaping both his personal journey and music career.

The Afrobeats singer made the remarks during a recent visit to Babcock University, his alma mater located in Osun State, where he reflected on his time as a student and the lessons he carried into the entertainment industry.
Speaking to students and members of the university community, Davido explained that despite achieving massive success in music, completing his education remains one of the accomplishments he is most proud of.
“Babcock University shaped my career. I always brag to colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started school got to finish,” he said.
The singer, who graduated from the university’s music department, noted that education gave him discipline, exposure, and experiences that contributed to his development as an artist and businessman.

Over the years, Davido has often spoken about balancing academics with his rise in the music industry, especially during the early stages of his career when he was already becoming one of the biggest young stars in Nigerian music.
Now at 33, the award-winning artist continues to stand as one of Afrobeats’ biggest global exports, but his recent comments also served as a reminder that success in entertainment and education do not have to exist separately.
