Nigerian music stars Asake and Seun Kuti are among the artists seeking recognition at the 69th Grammy Awards, with submissions spanning several categories ahead of the Recording Academy’s announcement of nominees.

Asake has submitted his album M$NEY and three songs, “Gratitude,” “Jogodo,” and “Worship,” for consideration across multiple categories, including Best African Music Performance.
His album M$NEY has been entered for Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album, while Gratitude is up for consideration in Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
His collaboration with Wizkid, Jogodo, has also been submitted for Best African Music Performance. Meanwhile, Worship, featuring French DJ and producer DJ Snake, is being considered for Best Dance Pop Recording.

Seun Kuti, son of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has submitted two songs, Na Dem and Problems, for consideration in the Best African Music Performance category.
The submissions mark another attempt by both artists to secure a place among the Grammy nominees. However, submission does not guarantee a nomination, as the final list will depend on the Recording Academy’s voting process.

Asake previously earned Grammy nominations in the Best African Music Performance category for Amapiano, his collaboration with Olamide, at the 2024 awards, and MMS, featuring Wizkid, at the 2025 ceremony.
Seun Kuti received his first Grammy nomination in 2019 alongside his band, Egypt 80. Their album Black Times competed in the Best World Music Album category but did not win.
The Recording Academy is scheduled to announce the nominees for the 2027 Grammy Awards on November 16, 2026. The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on February 7, 2027.
First-round voting is scheduled for October 12–22, while final voting will run from December 10 through January 7, 2027. Until the nominations are confirmed, Asake and Seun Kuti’s entries remain under consideration.
