Global pop icon Shakira has officially released the 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem titled “Dai Dai,” featuring Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy in a high-energy global collaboration that fuses Afrobeats, reggaetón, dance-pop, and world music influences.

The nearly four-minute record serves as the official soundtrack for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, capturing the tournament’s themes of unity, resilience, and global celebration.
Released on Friday, Shakira announced the track directly to fans on social media, writing: “Dai Dai is here. The @FIFAWorldCup 2026 starts now!”

FIFA also confirmed the release in an official statement shared on its X account, describing the song as a reflection of the energy and global spirit that will define the tournament.
According to the football governing body, “Dai Dai” will serve as the official World Cup song in partnership with the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million to support education and football development for children worldwide.
The statement also confirmed that Shakira will donate her royalties to the fund, while Sony Music will match the first $250,000 raised.
Lyrically, the track leans heavily into motivational themes, with Shakira opening the song with uplifting lines about resilience and purpose:
“You knew from the day you were born/ That here in this place you belong/ You’ve been this brave all along/ What broke you once, made you strong.”
Beyond its message, the song also pays tribute to football culture by referencing legendary players such as Pelé, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappé, alongside iconic footballing nations across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
With its blend of global sounds and star power, “Dai Dai” positions itself as more than just a tournament anthem but a cultural bridge between continents ahead of what is expected to be the most expansive World Cup in history.
