Chelsea have secured the signature of England international Morgan Rogers, with the Premier League giants officially unveiling the highly rated forward as their newest addition ahead of the new campaign.
The 23-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2033, completing one of the biggest transfers of the summer. Rogers now joins Xabi Alonso’s squad as Chelsea continue to strengthen for the upcoming season.
The move crowns an impressive rise for the attacker, who developed into one of the Premier League’s standout young stars during his time at Aston Villa. Across 85 league appearances, Rogers contributed to 40 goals, playing a key role in Villa’s fourth-place finish before helping the club lift last season’s UEFA Europa League title.
His club form also earned him a regular place in the England national team. Since making his senior debut in November 2024, Rogers has collected 22 international caps and featured prominently during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Three Lions finished third.

Reports from several English media outlets claim Chelsea paid around €117 million to complete the transfer, making Rogers the second-most expensive signing in Premier League history. Only Alexander Isak’s blockbuster move from Newcastle United to Liverpool for £125 million is believed to have cost more.
Chelsea’s capture of the England star comes after Arsenal had reportedly emerged as early favourites to sign him during the transfer window. However, the Blues eventually won the race, convincing Rogers to make the switch to west London instead.
To celebrate the announcement, Chelsea released a video introducing their newest signing across the club’s social media platforms, accompanied by the caption “chose Chelsea,” a subtle reference to the fierce transfer battle that saw them beat Arsenal to one of England’s brightest young talents.
