Renowned American entertainment media giant Billboard has officially kicked off its countdown of the 50 Greatest Afrobeats Songs of All Time, spotlighting the genre’s meteoric rise on the global stage.
In a publication released on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Billboard announced that the selection, which reflects its editorial team’s staff picks, will be revealed gradually in sets of 10 until the number one song is revealed.
According to Billboard, the curated list is a celebration of Afrobeats’ cultural dominance and global influence, showcasing iconic records that have defined and shaped the sound over the years.
