Arsenal Set to Land Valencia Defender Cristhian Mosquera in Summer Reinforcement Move

Premier League giants Arsenal are on the verge of completing a deal for highly rated Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, as manager Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to Sam Dean of The Telegraph, the Gunners have reached a breakthrough in negotiations with the La Liga club, with the transfer fee expected to come in just under £15 million, below Valencia’s initial £17m asking price. The 21-year-old Spanish youth international is set to sign a long-term contract at the Emirates.
The deal is progressing swiftly, and Arsenal are reportedly hopeful of announcing Mosquera’s signing later this week, with personal terms already agreed between the player and the club.
Mosquera is tipped to join Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong, where the North London side will face AC Milan, Newcastle United, and fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a series of high-profile friendlies.
The young defender is seen as an ideal addition to Arteta’s defensive line, bringing depth and competition alongside established centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
This move comes shortly after Andrea Berta, the club’s influential transfer figure, helped unlock talks for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, signalling Arsenal’s serious intent in the summer transfer window.
Mosquera’s arrival will mark another step in Arsenal’s mission to reinforce their squad with youthful, top-tier talent as they prepare to mount another challenge for major honours.
