Spotify’s 2024 data for the most streamed Nigerian artists outside Nigeria places Burna Boy at the top, reaffirming his position as a leader in the international promotion of Nigerian music.
Burna Boy’s global appeal is evident, with three of his albums surpassing 500 million streams, making him the only African artist to achieve this feat. For years, he has been at the forefront of the Afrobeats wave, showcasing Nigerian culture on a worldwide scale.
Second on the list is Grammy-nominated artist Ayra Starr, who had a stellar year following the release of her sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21.’ The critically acclaimed project features a star-studded lineup, including Asake, Seyi Vibez, Giveon, Coco Jones, and Brazilian singer Anitta, bolstering her international recognition.
