I’ve never left a man for cheating on me – Tiwa Savage reveals
In a candid conversation on the Receipts Podcast on Spotify, Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage shared a surprising detail about her love life, revealing that she has never ended a relationship over infidelity.
The African Bad Gyal admitted that despite being cheated on multiple times, cheating has never been a dealbreaker for her in relationships.
“I’ve been cheated on before. I found out and forgave every time,” Tiwa confessed during the interview. “Every man I’ve ever been with has cheated, and I’ve never left them because of it. I’ve left for other reasons, but not because they cheated. Cheating is not my hill.”
While she acknowledged that infidelity can hurt, Tiwa emphasized that it’s the dishonesty and disrespect that come with it that is truly difficult for her to accept. “What hurts is the lies about it though. Maybe other people had known and then I kind of felt stupid about it, or they’ve known for a long time or if it’s close to home. The disrespect of it is why I could leave, but the actual act of it? I’ve never left a man cause of it.”
The singer also shared the many other reasons she’s walked away from relationships, including issues like drug abuse, emotional mistreatment, financial problems, and dishonesty. “I’ve left for so many other reasons like drug abuse or emotional abuse or being emotionally abused, being ghosted, stealing, and financial things. But that cheating thing, nah,” she explained.
Further reflecting on the issue, Tiwa argued that the tendency for men to cheat is rooted in history, with cultural and historical precedents going back to ancient times. “I know you say it’s bad that we’ve gotten to a point where cheating isn’t a deal-breaker. But I feel like we’ve always been here even back in the day, even going back to the Bible and history,” she concluded.
Tiwa’s open discussion about love, loyalty, and infidelity has sparked a conversation among fans and listeners, with many weighing in on whether or not they share her perspective.
