Manchester United have finalised the appointment of Amorim

Contract runs until 2027 with a one-year option
Manchester United has officially announced Ruben Amorim as the new manager of their men’s first team. Amorim was selected to replace former manager Erik ten Hag, who departed last month.
United activated Amorim’s €10 million (£8.4 million) release clause to secure his move to Old Trafford.
Additionally, an estimated €1 million (£840,000) in compensation was paid to allow Sporting CP to waive Amorim’s 30-day notice period. He will complete his duties with Sporting until the November international break.
In an official statement, the club shared: “Manchester United is thrilled to confirm Ruben Amorim’s appointment as Head Coach of the men’s first team, pending work visa approval.
“He has signed on until June 2027, with an option for a further year, and will officially start at United on Monday, November 11, after completing his commitments with Sporting.
“Ruben is regarded as one of the most promising and talented young managers in European football. An accomplished former player and coach, his achievements include two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting CP, the first of which marked the club’s first league championship in 19 years.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue as interim manager until Ruben joins.”
