Manchester United reach full agreement’ to hire Ruben Amorim
Manchester United are reportedly finalizing a deal to make Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim their new manager following the recent dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
Amorim was quickly identified as United’s top choice, and Sporting confirmed that the Red Devils intend to activate his €10 million (£8.3 million) release clause.
According to The Telegraph, United will not only cover Amorim’s release clause but will also provide additional compensation to bring in members of his preferred backroom team.
This support staff is expected to include assistants Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, and Emanuel Ferro, as well as goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital and fitness coach Paulo Barreira.
Amorim is anticipated to sign a contract lasting until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to extend for an additional year. Sir Dave Brailsford of INEOS seemingly hinted at the agreement’s completion, as a video surfaced online where he responded, “It’s done,” when asked about Amorim’s appointment.
However, Portuguese outlets Record and A BOLA have indicated that the final payment has yet to be made, though they report that no major hurdles remain in United’s path to securing Amorim’s signature.
