Timaya discloses the two Nigerian artists who impressed him when they collaborated
Nigerian music icon Timaya revealed the two Nigerian artists who left a lasting impression on him during their collaborations.
In an interview with Channels TV, Timaya expressed that among all the artists he has worked with, BNXN and the late Kefee stood out the most.
Discussing his experience working with Kefee, a beloved singer who made a significant impact on Nigerian music in the 2000s, Timaya described the collaboration as unforgettable.
He reflected on how he was captivated by her natural talent and heavenly voice, particularly when recording their hit song “Kokoroko” from her album A Piece of Me.
“She was a natural talent with the voice of an Angel,” Timaya shared, recalling how amazed he was by her effortless performance during the recording session.
Timaya also highlighted his collaboration with BNXN (formerly known as Buju) on the 2021 hit track “Cold Outside,” which became one of the year’s biggest songs.
According to the Dancehall star, the track was born out of a casual conversation between him and BNXN. “We were just talking, and I said, ‘It’s so cold outside,‘ and went upstairs. Before I came back, he had already recorded the song,” Timaya recounted, praising BNXN’s quick creativity and the smooth production by Yung Willis.
Timaya’s admiration for both Kefee and BNXN underscores their immense talent, especially considering Timaya’s stature in Nigerian music, where he is highly respected for his unique blend of dancehall and afrobeat.
