Renowned Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has shared his reasons for preferring a low-key lifestyle and avoiding the display of his achievements on social media.

In a recent podcast interview, the Grammy-winning artist explained his choice to keep his accomplishments private. Wizkid discussed his humble beginnings, revealing that he and his siblings often went without meals during their childhood.

Reflecting on his upbringing in a large family of 11 children, including four from his mother, Wizkid noted that these experiences significantly shaped his perspective on life and fame. He attributed his decision to avoid flaunting his success to the lessons learned from his family and his past struggles.

Wizkid emphasized that his challenging past has kept him grounded and unaffected by the allure of celebrity status. “I came from the bottom, and I know what it feels like not to have anything. There was a time when I had never even had breakfast; it was just lunch or maybe dinner,” he shared.

Recall, Wizkid has set a new record for the longest gap between No. 1 songs on the TurnTable Top 100, Nigeria’s leading music chart.

Asake’s ‘MMS,’ featuring Wizkid from his recently released third album “Lungu Boy,” has reached No. 1 on the TurnTable Top 100, marking Wizkid’s second chart-topping single.

‘MMS‘ comes 3 years, 9 months, and 12 days after Wizkid’s last chart-topping hit, ‘Ginger,’ featuring Burna Boy. This achievement sets a new record, surpassing the previous one of 1 year, 10 months, and 16 days held by Omah Lay.
