With 6,000,000 units sold, Rema’s hit song “Calm Down” has extended its record as the most certified African music in the US, marking a tremendous milestone.

“Calm Down,” which was one of the lead songs released in 2022 in front of Rema’s debut album “Raves & Roses,” has continuously seen enormous economic success.

Continuing its reign as the most commercially successful African song in the United States, ‘Calm Down‘ featuring Selena Gomez has now reached the impressive milestone of 6,000,000 units sold, earning it an RIAA 6-time platinum plaque.

The ‘Calm Down‘ remix garnered significant success in the US, spending over 52 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Its peak at No. 3 on the chart also marked the highest position for a Nigerian song and the second highest for an African song, trailing only behind Hugh Masekela’s 1968 record ‘Grazing in the Grass,’ which reached No. 1.
