Eden Hazard agrees to terminate Real Madrid contract.
Eden Hazard will leave Real Madrid on a free transfer at the conclusion of the current season, the club has announced.
The Belgian has had a terrible time with injuries throughout his time in Spain and has fallen to the bottom of the pecking order. He was acquired from Chelsea in a huge deal that might reach £150 million.
Although Hazard’s Madrid contract still has one year remaining, Real has officially announced that the winger would be freed from his agreement one year early.
“Real Madrid CF and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will be released from the club as of June 30, 2023,” a statement read.
“Eden Hazard has been part of our club for four seasons, in which he has won 8 titles: 1 European Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups.
“Real Madrid wants to express its affection for Eden Hazard and wishes him and his entire family the best of luck in this new stage.”

On Sunday, Real Madrid will play their final game of the year against Athletic Club, with Hazard having made just 76 appearances for Los Blancos overall.
The 32-year-old winger, who is one of Real’s highest-paid players, has scored seven goals and provided 12 assists while playing in Spain. However, his time in Spain rapidly turned into a nightmare when he had a foot injury during his first season.
When Hazard finally managed to shake off the injury bug, he had lost the bulk of the confidence of those in command at the Bernabeu and struggled to get playing time. Several operations had failed to restore Hazard to his greatest form.
Despite only missing three games due to injury this season, the former Chelsea winger has only made six appearances in La Liga and is now just weeks away from ending his disastrous stay in Spain.
