The end of Karim Benzema at Real Madrid? Club are aware of ‘huge’ Saudi Arabia offer and confirm that he’s made decision on future,
Karim Benzema has already decided on his future after receiving a substantial offer from a team in the Saudi Pro League.
According to The Athletic, Benzema is the most recent player to get a sizable offer from a Saudi Arabian team.
The France international has a deal with Real Madrid that runs until 2024, but Los Blancos would let him go if he accepted the offer.
Benzema has reportedly been offered a contract for more than €400 million (£346 million/$439 million) over two seasons.
It is believed that Benzema has made a choice on the offer he has received, but it is unknown at this time whether he will take it or opt to remain at Real Madrid.
Despite turning 35 in December, the Frenchman is still an important player for Madrid. This season, Benzema has scored 18 goals in 23 La Liga games, trailing just Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona in the Spanish top division.
Not just Karim Benzema is sought after in Saudi Arabia. A bid of €500 million (£435 million/$541 million) is rumoured to be on the table for Lionel Messi, and the forward’s former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have also been connected to transfers to the Middle East.
If Benzema has already played his final match for Madrid, that is still to be determined. On Sunday, Athletic Club visit Carlo Ancelotti’s team to round up their league schedule, although Benzema is questionable for the game due to a foot injury.
