Davido celebrates as Supreme Court upholds Adeleke’s election victory.
Nigerian Afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, who is professionally known as Davido, has reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court affirming his uncle, Ademola Adeleke as Osun State governor.
On Tuesday, May 9th 2023, the Supreme Court confirmed Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the legally elected Governor of Osun State.
The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal filed by the former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, who was the All Progressives Congress, APC’s gubernatorial candidate, against Adeleke’s election win in its lead judgment, given by Justice Emmanuel Agim.
Reacting to the verdict of the court, Davido mocked the opposition with a line from ‘Over Dem’ a track in his latest album, Timeless.
He tweeted, “We go dey shock them like high-tension’.
