Wizkid’s ex-signee L.A.X reveals Caro’ Changed his Life, But It Wasn’t his Song.
Musician Damilola Afolabi, known professionally as L.A.X has revealed that while ‘Caro’ was a popular song that changed his life but it wasn’t his song.
According to LAX, “Caro,” the well-known 2013 smash song that brought him to fame after inking a record deal with Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment, wasn’t his tune.
He revealed this on a recent episode of the “Echoo Room” podcast, which is hosted by renowned Nigerian media personality Quincy Jonze.
LAX said ‘Caro’ was originally Wizkid’s song, but he gave him a chance to hop on it and that single act brought a significant change/growth to his life.
After signing a record deal in 2013, LAX claimed he was unsure of what song to release. Then, he heard “Caro,” which Wizkid had already recorded, and added a verse to it.
He claimed that after hearing his verse, Wizkid was impressed and quickly called Moe Musa, a well-known video director, to start shooting the music video the next day.
He mentioned that everything changed for him with Wizkid’s release of “Caro” while he was attending school in Manchester, New York.
