Burna Boy set new record by leading the Indian music chart.
Nigerian Grammy award-winning artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, known professionally as Burna Boy, has achieved a new milestone on the international music scene topping India music chart.
The African Giant becomes the first African artiste to hit No.1 on the India music chart
With “Mera Na bu” by late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, he made his debut on India’s Music chart and it peaked at number one.
Burna Boy and Steel Banglez, a British music composer and producer, feature on “Mera Na,” which was released posthumously on April 7, 2023.
According to a Twitter stat publishing page, the self-proclaimed African Giant’s achievement puts him the second African and Nigerian performer, after Rema, to ever debut on the Billboard India Songs chart.

It stated that “Mera Na” by (@iSidhuMooseWala, @burnaboy, & @steelbanglez) debuted at number one on Billboard India Songs.
The song also charted at 14 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and at 102 on the Billboard Global 200 in the United States.

Recall, Odogwu has broken a new YouTube record after aPPearing as a guest artist on Sidhu Moose Wala’s posthumous hit ‘Mera Na.‘
Burna Boy, a close friend of the late Indian Musician, paid tribute to him after his passing and also performed on his posthumous album.
Burna Boy was one of the few artists that Sidhu had expressed a desire to collaborate with before his untimely death.
The song, which was released on April 7th, 2023, became an instant smash, receiving over 14.9 million views, over 2 million “likes,” and over one million comments in just 24 hours on YouTube.
