Afrobeats emerging sensation Bad Boy Timz, the “Loading” crooner, has opened up on the true story of his arrest by his former label, Anonymous Music on the Roadshow with Gucci and Gigi of CoolFM.
Recall that in 2021, the “Micheal Jackson” crooner was arrested by his former label for allegedly defrauding them.
Gucci did not cut any corners when he asked Empire record artist Bad Boy Timz about details of the arrest in a really open and honest conversation.
Although the general public believed the young genius had been apprehended by police, he disclosed how he had actually been kidnapped.
Bad Boy Timz reveals his story and discusses how it affected his career and music.
Talking about his arrest, Timz stated that he was illegally detained as he made to sleep on the road with Policemen who were patrolling.
“I got detained illegally. It was more like a kidnap. It wasn’t an arrest, Because they could not put me in a cell, I had to sleep on the road with Policemen that were on patrol, it was more like oppression safe to say, like, me I have let it go, there no time, I can be petty but I don’t need to be petty,” he explained to Gucci and Gigi.
He also spoke about how his family members and friends couldn’t locate him after his arrest.

“For sure, before the album drops, there will be o much to spill. Cos it was a mental phase for me and my family, just knowing that your son got arrested and nobody knows where he was. The night I got arrested, nobody knew where I was, none of my family members, the guys that follow me to the police station, they kind of like stopped them when they were changing my station. Like they took me from one station to the other, so when we will about to leave the first station, they had to block the guys so they didn’t know where they are taking me, until the following day.
Timz revealed that the arrest affected him mentally and made him more invested in the financial part of the music business. He hinted at having to pay his former label a large amount of money to free him.
“I will say I was affected, imagine not being able to be on air for one year, you understand what am saying? It was mental for me but I still had to pay, you get what I mean, I had to pay an outrageous amount. It was mental, I had to be more invested in the financial part of the business, having to pay someone a very ridiculous amount of money within one year..”

However, Bad Boy Timz is not the only artist that has had problems with record labels, artists like Kizz Daniel, Burna Boy, 2baba, and many others have had issues with labels in the past.
