May D says he brought Amapiano to Nigeria, to which Davido responds.
Nigerian singer, May D has reacted to the ongoing Amapiano debate which has seen African stars like Davido, DJ Maphorisa, Wizkid and Burna boy dragged into it.
Arguments and discussions on who promoted and popularised the Amapiano music genre have inundated the social media realm in the wake of Wizkid’s release of the song “Bad To Me.”
Recall that Davido recently confronted DJ Maphorisa, a South African song producer, for attempting to undermine his efforts to elevate Amapiano to fame.
In the midst of the discussion, May D declared on Twitter that he was the one who introduced Amapiano to Nigeria. He continued by saying that although he dislikes being involved in stories like this, he is being put in a difficult situation and must thus give himself some credit.
