The legendary British singer-pianist and composer Elton John has come out as a full-time outsider as he opened up about his admiration for Burna Boy’s music and artistry.
On his Apple Music show, Elton John’s Rocket Love Hour, Sir Elton John spoke with Burna Boy about his latest album, Love Damini.
On the edition of the show that aired on Apple Music on July 15th, the two discussed prospective cooperation.
British singer, pianist, and songwriter Sir Elton John. John, who gained the nickname “the Rocket Man” following his popular song of the same name in 1972, has had a long and successful solo career, releasing 31 albums since 1969.

The two singers were speaking, with Burna Boy discussing his experiences recording his sixth studio album, Love Damini, as well as what it meant to him to be the main act at a Madison Square Garden concert.
The British artist discussed the potential for working with Odogwu and expressed his enthusiasm for the current golden era of African music.
Sir John stated;
“You are the one artist that I really would love to do something with, because you really make me happy, and your music is just so fantastic. I’ve played eight tracks of you already on the Rocket Hour. So, we go back a long way on the Rocket Hour with you. I would love one day to catch up and do something in the studio with you. It would be an honor for me to do that.”
The African Giant also expressed his desire for them to work together and noted that he has been anticipating it for a very long time.
Due to the popularity of his album African Giant, which earned him a shout-out on Sir Elton John’s program, Burna Boy has been on the British singer’s radar since 2019.
