Naira Marley discusses his musical career and the reasons behind his controversial tweets.
Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, has admitted that he never intended to be a musician and that is why he tweets the things he does.
This was revealed by the singer of “COMING” during a recent radio interview with Hitz FM, a popular radio station in Ghana.
Speaking on his childhood and music, he said;
“I have been to jail once. I was put on remand. Growing up in London, my dad did not allow us to speak English. We spoke Yuroba because he said we will learn the English outside.

Back then in the UK, I made a very big song that got me into the limelight.
The video we shot for it got about 5M views. I never planned to get into music”
Talking about his controversial tweets, he stated that he tweets out of freedom and not because he is bored.
In his submission, he said;
“I tweet out of freedom and not boredom. A typical marlian is one who is free and happy. What people think or say about you shouldn’t be a concern.”
