Nigerian musician Mr. P of Psquare music group has reacted to the growing number of aspirants declaring their intention to run for the 2023 presidential election.
On Thursday, 5th of May 2022, Mr. P urged the politicians to relax, stating that the presidential contest now seemed like a beer parlour declaration.
On his Instagram page, the singer wrote,
“The way these people dey declare to run for the 2023 presidency eh! E don pass beer parlor drink declaration. Ah, make una just calm down na. Just saying.”
The growing number of presidential aspirants in the past few days has raised concerns, especially with the lingering strike by Nigerian lecturers.

Under the All Progressives Congress, APC alone, presidential aspirants include: Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, Dave Umahi, Rochas Okorocha, Yahaya Bello, Emeka Nwajiuba.
Others include Adams Oshiomhole, Kayode Fayemi; Godswill Akpabio, Ibikunke Amosun and Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment.
In the opposition party, PDP, the likes of Atiku Abubakar, Nyesom Wike, Bukola Saraki, Anyim Pius Anyim, and Peter Obi, among others, have also declared interest.
