    In Nigeria, Master KG’s “Skeleton Move” was a popular cross-over song for what Nigerians misinterpreted as “Bode Thomas.” In December 2019, the original ‘Jerusalema‘ was released, although it just featured Nomcebo.

    Then, in June 2020, a Burna Boy remix will be released. Apart from how Burna Boy ripped the song to bits with Nigerian slang like “Woro si woro” and Zulu, the song actually took off after this version was released.

    By September 2020, ‘Jerusalema‘ had been used in a Cristiano Ronaldo video and had become the world’s most-Shazammed song.

    The popularity of this song is a testament to Burna Boy’s influence in the Nigerian music Industry.

    While the original version of this song was taking off in Mozambique and other South African countries where Amapiano was slowly taking over, it only found popularity in West Africa region after the remix.

    This tune incorporates Afrobeats into the Amapiano sounds. Burna Boy infuses the established South African vibe with Yoruba street culture making for a delicious meal.
