Made Kuti revealed his admission into the Recording Academy’s class of 2021 in an Instagram post.
Made Kuti, a grandson of afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, announced that he had been accepted into the Recording Academy’s class of 2021.
On Thursday, August 26th, 2021, he posted this on his Instagram feed.
He posted a photo of himself being confirmed into the Academy. This year, he was inducted into the Recording Academy, according to the announcement. He composed:
“Humbled to be a voting member of @recordingacademy class of 2021.
Looking forward to contributing as positively and progressively as possible????????❤️”

Made isn’t the only Nigerian in the Recording Academy’s 2021 class. Niniola, the afro-house queen, has also joined the esteemed academy this year.
Prior to Niniola, the Grammy Recording Academy inducted AnR, Bankulli, and Juls, a Ghanaian producer, into the class of 2020.
In 2019, Aramide, a fellow musician, was inducted into the Grammy governance board.
