Nigerian Afrobeats stars, Tiwa Savage, DJ Cuppy, Mayorkun were among the artists to top the Triller US and Global charts.
Video-sharing app, Triller became the top app in 50 countries earlier this week. The app has also continued to share a US and global chart with American company, Billboard.
The pair of charts, named Top Triller U.S. and Top Triller Global, highlight the biggest songs on the app based on a formula blending the amount of views of videos containing a respective songs, the level of engagement with those videos and the raw total of videos uploaded featuring each song, according to Triller.
In the Global Charts, Tiwa Savage’s “Dangerous Love” came second to India singer, Armaan Malil’s “Next to me”. DJ Cuppy’s “Jollof on the Jet” was fifth on the chart, the Adekunle Gold’s “Ag Baby” and Mayorkun’s “Betty Butter” was in the eighth and Ninth place respectively.
While on the US Chart, only Tiwa Savage and Adekunle Gold made it on the chart with “Dangerous Love” in fourth place and “Ag Baby” in fifteenth place.
DJ Cuppy reacting to the news of “Jollof on the Jet” topping the charts took to Twitter to celebrate. She wrote,
