2023 AFCON: Falz celebrates Alex Iwobi amidst criticism from Nigerians
Football player Alex Iwobi has received praise from Nigerian rapper and musician Falz after the Super Eagles’ defeat in the AFCON final.
The 2023 AFCON final saw Nigerian player Alex Iwobi come under fire for his on-field performance from both supporters and detractors.
Iwobi drew criticism from certain Nigerian fans despite his efforts; many expressed dissatisfaction and displeasure with his contributions to the game.
Falz, a social media analyst and rapper from Nigeria, used his platform to mobilize support for football player Iwobi amid the criticism.
He said that Alex Iwobi was being cyberbullied by Nigerians, who did not value what he did.
He wrote, “We win together, we lose together. Every single player that puts on the green white green to represent us, is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain.”
