West Ham confirm loan signing & shirt number of Evan Ferguson from Brighton

West Ham United have confirmed the loan signing of Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old has struggled for regular game time at Brighton since Fabian Hürzeler took over as head coach last summer. However, he remains highly regarded after breaking into the first team at just 16 years old.
West Ham head coach Graham Potter, who previously managed Ferguson at Brighton, expressed his excitement about the reunion.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Evan in on loan until the end of the season,” Potter told the club’s media. “He’s a player we obviously know very well, so I’m grateful to the board for making this happen. He has plenty of quality attributes as a striker that will benefit the group over the coming months. We’re excited to integrate him into the squad and see him in action soon.”

Ferguson, who will wear the number 34 shirt for West Ham, is eager to make an impact at his new club.
“It feels good to be here,” the Irish forward said. “Seeing the stadium and being here today, I’ve got a very good feeling. West Ham is a big club, and this was a great opportunity for me. I know the manager well and look forward to working under him again. I want to come in, do my best, score goals, and see where we can get to.”

Despite his move, Brighton head coach Hürzeler emphasized that Ferguson’s long-term future remains at the Amex Stadium, explaining that the loan is primarily to help the young striker regain fitness and playing time after a frustrating year with injuries.
“Evan has had a tough 12 months with injuries, and to get back to his best, he needs to play regularly,” Hürzeler said. “This loan gives him that opportunity under a manager he knows well. We look forward to following his progress over the next few months and wish him well.”
