    Amapiano has slowly trickled into the Nigerian Music Industry which has led to the rise of Nigerian Amapiano songs being released.

    Nigerian Artists are known for their ability to own any sound they jump on. This is termed the ‘Nigerian Effect’. It’s no surprise that Nigerian Artists are jumping on the trending Amapiano genre.

    Amapiano (nicknamed ‘The Yanos’) is a South African music genre that started gaining mainstream popularity in South Africa by late 2018.

    It features a strong baseline, piano/keyboard usage (hence the name), varying beat combinations which usually last anywhere between 1 and 2 minutes before any lyrics is heard.

    Squander- Falz ft Niniola

    Way before this collaboration happened, Mp3bullet.ng had predicted it on its “Nigerian Collaboration that we would love to see happen”.

    Falz teams up with Nigerian Afro-House queen, Niniola on the WillisBeatz-produced Amapiano styled song.

    Falz reminds us that he is a versatile rapper as he sings in the Hausa Language and Igbo Language.

     

    Inumidun- Skales

    Meaning happiness, “Inumidun” which means ‘I’m happy’ isn’t made on the usual amapiano beat but a fats paced one.

    In the song, Skales sings about the happiness he feels in the presence of his lover, he sings “Inumidun when you come around, when you turn around, and you pull it down”.

    He links up with DTAC for the production of this jam.

     

    I Got a Friend- Davido ft Mayorkun, Sho Madjozi

    As Amapiano started gaining ground in Nigeria, Davido decided to join the train and released three Amapiano songs off his “A Better Time” album. These songs include “Heaven”, “I Have a Friend”, “La La”.

    However, for this list, the focus would be on “I Got a Friend” featuring Mayorkun and South African Artist, Sho Madjozi.

    Produced by Fresh VDM, Davido pays homage to his crew who he considers as friends. in this song, Sho Madjozi shines through as she gives a sterling rap performance.

     

    DJ Tunez ft Olamide – Require

    Olamide is a versatile rapper and “Require” proves that. Teaming up with DJ Tunez for the groovy Amapiano song, he asks his love Interest what she requires from him.

    The song is produced by the amazing fast-rising P.Priime.

     

    DJ Kaywise ft Phyno – Highway 

    DJ Kaywise and Phyno decided to fuse Amapiano and contemporary Igbo rap together to produce something magical.

    Phyno flawlessly raps in Igbo using the South African Ampiano style as a guideline but in a more groovy way.
