Tems opens up on ‘marriage’ intentions
Nigerian R&B star Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed that she is open to the idea of marriage. While many celebrities have publicly ruled out the prospect, the 29-year-old Grammy-winning singer remains hopeful about what the future might bring.
In a recent episode of the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast, the host, Craig Mitch, asked Tems if she plans to get married one day. After a moment of hesitation, she responded, “Yeah. We will see.”
Although Tems is not publicly known to be in a romantic relationship, rumors once circulated that she was pregnant with American rapper Future’s child—rumors she swiftly dismissed.
In an earlier interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Tems also shared her perspective on relationships, expressing her belief that most men don’t have intentions beyond sex when it comes to relationships.

Recall, Tems opened up about the evolution of her style and the significance of authenticity in self-expression during an interview with Karefa Johnson from Essence Magazine. Tems emphasized that her unique dress sense and overall style are a natural result of staying true to herself, rather than an attempt to project a specific image or message.
She shared her thoughts on the pressure to conform to certain expectations, particularly for artists and women, stressing the importance of embracing individuality. “You should be yourself even if something else is expected of you. You win, automatically, when you are yourself, no matter what that looks like. That’s why there’s variety,” Tems explained.
Tems further expressed her belief that there shouldn’t be a standard or requirement for how people, especially women or artists, should dress.
