Omar Marmoush transfer to Man City: Eintracht Frankfurt forward completes January move for initial £59m

Manchester City has officially confirmed the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal valued at €70 million (£59 million).
The transfer marks another significant move in the defending Premier League champions’ busy January window.
Earlier this week, City secured Brazilian center-back Vitor Reis from Palmeiras and Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens, showcasing their commitment to bolstering their squad.

Marmoush, who joined Frankfurt from Wolfsburg on a free transfer in July 2023, leaves after an impressive 18 months with the Bundesliga club. Reflecting on his move, the 25-year-old expressed his excitement:
“I’m thrilled to be here,” Marmoush said. “Manchester City is undoubtedly one of the greatest clubs in the world over the past decade. It was an easy decision to make.

Marmoush has been in sensational form this season, registering 15 goals and 10 assists in just 17 Bundesliga appearances. His versatility across the front line has made him one of Europe’s most sought-after players, with Liverpool reportedly monitoring him last year.

City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain—set to leave the club in the summer—was instrumental in sealing the deal. Reflecting on the acquisition, he praised Marmoush’s quality:
