Chelsea’s head coach, Graham Potter, has opened up on how he chose his first-choice goalkeepers, between Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga
In his UEFA Champions League pre-match press conference held today, Tuesday, October 4, 2022, Graham Potter shared his opinions on Chelsea’s current first-choice goalkeeper.
The head coach stated that because matches are coming thick and fast, he is not concerned with who is ranked first or not. Instead, his main objective is to help Kepa Arrizabalaga play the best football he can right now after his outstanding performance in the premier league match against Crystal Palace.

Potter continued by saying that Edouard Mendy’s full recovery from his injury and continued fitness in the upcoming days are also top priorities for him.
Additionally, he made no mention of the goalkeeper for Chelsea’s Champions League match against AC Milan on Wednesday, October 4, 2022.
Now that both goalkeepers are healthy, Graham Potter may be faced with his most difficult decision regarding the starting goalkeeper at Chelsea since joining the club.
Kepa would like to give the coach something to think about because Mendy has made a lot of mistakes this season. Kepa has pulled off two strong outings in a row for the new manager.
