Ivorian rap sensation Didi B has officially unveiled his latest mixtape, Shogun in Lagos, a 23-track project that brings together an exciting collection of African and international music stars.
The newly released body of work boasts an impressive guest lineup, with Nigerian heavyweights Davido, Phyno, Zlatan, Young Jonn, Khaid and Qing Madi making appearances. Other featured acts include Chley, Mavo, 6uff, Tayc, King Promise, NSG and Focalistic.
Beyond its impressive list of collaborators, Shogun in Lagos carries a broader musical vision, with Didi B using the project to strengthen the connection between the music industries of Abidjan and Lagos.
The mixtape explores different sounds, moving between Afrobeats, Côte d’Ivoire’s popular coupé-décalé, hip-hop and South Africa’s amapiano. This blend gives the project a diverse identity while highlighting the different musical influences shaping contemporary African music.
